2008 was a difficult year for many as we began the 2008-2012 global breakdown/rebirth process. It was a year of extremes. As the eternal optimist, I look for the lesson or gift in challenging situations and times. The energies of 2008 asked, if not demanded each of us to clarify our priorities and be willing to release what was no longer serving us. The veil is very thin these days and karmic consequences seem instantaneous.
New directions open to us in 2009. HOPE through CHANGE is the mantra. Astrology offers the road map. Free will gives us the choice. The process of change can be painful and traumatic, or an exciting new adventure as you lovingly say goodbye to the past. Compassion and forgiveness support transitions with grace and ease. If people, possessions, and jobs are leaving your life, faith is required to hold the vision for a new direction, new relationships and a new life. Each of us has a part in the global transformations coming.
We can begin 2009 with a commitment to balancing and healing ourselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The more we can listen and honor our own body wisdom or knowing, we can stay in the present moment. Our minds may take us to past wounds or to future worries. These moments are opportunities to stop the familiar mental dialog, forgive ourselves and others and release the mental patterns creating pain in our lives. Some of these patterns have been passed down through the generations to us. Grief can be a gift. Don’t push it away. In fact, when we can accept the gift of healing these situations and circumstances offer us, we have truly turned the corner in awakening consciousness.
I am convinced with the planetary configurations coming up there is no way any of us can wrap our brains around what our world will look like in a year, much less four years from now. By staying in the present moment we maintain control over how we choose to feel in our bodies in any given moment. Grounding and stabilization occurs when we choose to not react in old negative emotional patterns to current events. We can then begin to choose peace and compassion when new events trigger the old reaction. A certain amount of conscious detachment is required. But more important is the commitment to change the old reactions. Old emotional triggers then become easier to stop and shift once we have empowered ourselves to do so. Yes we can! Clarity about our future and purpose will come in right timing. We are all on our own unique spiritual path consciously or unconsciously, with our own unique timing. If you find yourself stuck with old emotional tapes running your brain, take a walk in nature or by the beach if you are a water sign. Feel appreciation fill your heart as you gaze on the miracles and beauty of nature. Reach out to help others in even the simplest way. The more you can do this, the more you will realize your power to change your life. Incredible new opportunities are coming in 2009. Will you be ready to grab the brass ring?
